Reviews about Target
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆March 11, 2019, by Allison DremannUsed to be a daily shopper at this specific store. Wedding registry there and everything. Usually spend around 2-5, but that shouldn't matter. Using a throw away account (reasons why will become apparent later.) I (female) was in line with my male friend. Female cashier was great. Then we remarked that a display of an item was marked incorrectly. Cashier called over some male employee, and when we explained the situation he erratically went into a rant, and then called my male friend a d**k. I asked, "Did you just call my friend a "d**k?" And he said proudly, "Yup!" grinning like a fool. As if we were in a bar fight and not at a Target FAMILY store. I asked to see the manager repeatedly and he refused to comply. It was like dealing with a surly teen. Paging through his magazine and uttering creepy laughs under his breath. (Apparently this man thought it was hysterical that he made a female customer cry for NO REASON.) I kept pleading with him to "Please get away from me." And like a child he kept paging through a mailer, mocking my tears, taunting me, laughing hysterically, and refusing to leave and deescalate the situation. Cary PD, Target Sec., and the Parkwest Sec. showed up and had to get this employee to walk away from us! (Red flag.) As soon as that happened, the male employee wasn't so big and bad anymore. He ran to a female employee who came over to beg us not to share his name with corporate. Alternating between offering a coffee (no) and giving her name instead. She even refused to give us his name for a long time, and I suspect gave us a fake name to cover for this incident. I said we wouldn't leave without an apology, but this male employee ruined that too, by interrupting us and lying that he said "b***h" instead of "d**k", which- no I confirmed with him what he said before I got upset. And one is not better than the other. Emphasis again, that we did nothing abnormal before he went off, we told them about a price marked on their signage- in a conversational tone. This person is unhinged and should not be working with the public-especially families. It shouldn't take three different sets of police officers to get an employee away from a customer. NOTE FROM CORPORATE: If you are treated this way: use their red phones. Target employees won't tell you this, but DO IT, and you can reach corporate on the spot. You have rights too. Target employees cannot start harassing you and call you swear words over notifying them over a marketing sign! (Note: we did not call this person any names, or try to engage him in any way, instead asking him to please leave the situation as he was making it worse, and to please get a manager to deal with this instead.) I cannot imagine this employee dealing with actual tough customers! Good luck over the holidays. I've worked in retail management for over 15 years, and I would've fired my employee on the spot for acting this way. All employees including the supposed manager on duty seemed more worried about placating this unhinged employee than wondering why an employee would speak that way to a customer. (Hence, why I'm using a fake name.) Wouldn't give us Corporate's number until I refused to leave w/o it. This might sound hilarious, but it was unpleasant and left me shaking and in tears for hours. I went for clothes and all I got was PTSD-like symptoms. As long as this employee is allowed to interact with customers this Target store is unfit to operate.
